Bamboo Sword Stick or Surveyor's Probe

1900 - 1920
Description

Originally made in the style of a Customs & Excise probe this Sword stick has a fullered steel blade, a bone carved dog's head handle that incorporates a whistle and has a graduated measure from six to thirty inches on the haft.

There is also a label for "Battle & Webb Ltd, Sugar Beet, Seed" which I would think post dates the early 20th century manufacture.
