An Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Clock

1900 - 1920
Description

An Edwardian sterling silver clock.

The clock has an 8-day hand wound movement which is working well and keeping good time to within around six minutes over seven days.

The clock stands at approximately 10cm high plus the hinged loop to the top, 6.5cm wide and 5cm from back to front. It is a plain rectangular domed form in the bracket clock style. There are hallmarks on the main case, the hinged door and also on the loop for London 1905 with a maker's mark for the London silversmith William Comyns & Sons. The hinged case back has a torpedo shaped twist catch. The case is plain and unembellished. There are indentations and some areas of unevenness including a narrow 1cm indentation to the top.

The dial and the lens are both in good condition with just a little discolouration around the dial centre.
