Elmgarden has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
There are nine drawers in all each of which has a Carved Lions face handle, or perhaps it is the green man, the top of the desk has an inset brown tooled leather and a deeply carved moulded edge which matches the carving on the pedestal bases, the sides of the desk are panelled
The desk is in very good condition for its age, just a few marks on the leather, this is an unusual piece to come across and it would work very well in a study or in fact any room
The desk is 48” long, 27” deep and 32” high and the knee hole is 17” wide and 23.5” high
