German Galonne Cased Thiel Pocket Watch and Chain

1900 - 1920
Description

A German antique galonne cased Thiel pocket watch.

The watch has a signed stem-winding movement which is working well. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover with engraved details of the movement in German.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is 800 silver with a rose gold wash around the bezel and the edge of the case back, although there is some rubbing to the wash in places. Overall the case is in good condition with just the odd patch of unevenness.

The watch glass is in good order.

The enamel dial has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and painted gold minute markers. There is a small chip to the centre, some faint hairline cracks an some nibbling to the edge.

The watch comes with a double albert with each chain measuring 22cm long including the T-bar and the clasp.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
