First Period Worcester Trio Waiting Chinaman C.1770 Early Dr Wall Tea Bowl Coffee Cup Saucer

First period Worcester porcelain trio of coffee cup, tea bowl and saucer in the Waiting Chinaman pattern, dating from c.1770. A rare and desirable pattern, a sweet, naive scene of said Chinaman, hand painted with floral sprays and blue border around the inner rims of the cup and bowl and rim of saucer. The bowl has a little spray inside the bottom. Open blue crescent to all pieces.

The cup measures 2 1/2" high, 3 1/4" rim to handle and 2 3/8" rim to rim. The tea bowl is 1 3/4" high and 2 7/8" wide and the saucer is 4 7/8" wide and 1" high. Condition is very good with just a couple of small faults, a small rim chip to the cup near the handle, a small nick to the foot rim of the bowl and a short (1") hairline to the saucer. Light surface wear, good and appropriate for age and use. For completeness: there is a short firing line around the base of the handle and a short section of blurring in the pattern inside the rim of the cup.
