Antique Silver J G Graves Pocket Watch and Chain

The “Express” English Lever pocket watch by J G Graves of Sheffield pocket watch and impressive watch chain with various accoutrements.

The watch has a signed key-winding movement which is working well. A winding key is included. The movement is protected by a fitted inner cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case backs for Chester 1900 with a maker’s mark for J G Graves. The case is in good condition with just a gentle area of unevenness to the back and wear to the engine turned detail from where the watch has been held over the years.

The watch lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has a couple of very faint hairline cracks, just about visible with a magnifying loupe.

The watch comes with a charming silver albert which measures 30cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. There are four attachments including an unhallmarked whistle, a pencil (not silver) and an unusual penknife/pencil (the pencil is very stiff to extend) which is hallmarked for 1889 and a fourth attachment, hallmarked.
