1930s Vertex Stem-winding Pocket Watch and Chain

A vintage 1930s Vertex stem winding pocket watch and chain.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to around 2 - 3 minutes over a 24 hour period. The movement is stamped Vertex, Swiss Made.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The chrome plated case has surface marks from use and a couple of small "dings" to the edge of the back but otherwise it is in nice condition.

The watch lens is glass and is in nice condition with only the odd minor mark and some nibbling to the bevelled edge.

The dial is signed Vertex with Swiss Made at the bottom. The dial has three faint hairline cracks and some nibbling at the bottom although it is mainly under the bezel. Original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes on a chain which measures 30cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. There is a little surface corrosion to the T-bar.
