English Art Nouveau Jug & Wash Bowl C1910

Description

This very elegant ANTIQUE JUG & WASH BOWL, in the ART NOUVEAU style, dates from circa 1910.

It bears the mark of Burgess & Leigh of Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent.

The very pleasing pattern is reminiscent of the work of Aubrey Beardsley with its black-against-white contrast, flowing line decoration and leaves and blossoms hanging from tendrils.

The condition is good. There is no restoration.

Height of Jug: 11.5 inches (29.5 cm)
