Brass Shop Scales C.1890.

Description

Fine set of large late 19th.c. grocer’s shop scales c.1890. In heavy cast brass on a cast iron and wooden base. With a brass pan on one side balanced against a 11? diameter porcelain dish on the other, with additional hooks for meat etc. Indistinct marks for the well known makers Avery on the balance arm whilst the dish is illustrated with a logo for Day & Millward. Also with a later George V weights and measures stamp. Sold together with three brass bell weights (1,2&4lb). Excellent condition.
