Small Georgian Bracket Clock, Kent of London

19th century
Description

A small Georgian bracket clock. A mahogany arched top case surmounted by a cast handle. Arched side glass apertures and standing on ogee brass feet. An opening front door with recessed spandrel panels and convex glass. A true enamel dial with blued steel hands. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism with a fully engraved backplate. An anchor escapement.

Joseph Kent of Cock-Hill, Ratcliff (London) is recorded in Baillies 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' book as working 1772 - 1824.
