French Boulle Mantel Clock

19th century
Description

An extremely good quality and impressive French boulle red tortoise shell and engraved brass inlaid mantel clock with ornate ormolu mounts and dragons feet. The clock has a decorative cartouche dial with white enamel numerals and an eight day French movement which strikes the hours and half on a bell with outside count wheel.

The clock movement back plate is stamped with the makers name:-

Louis Japy Fils

The Clock movement has been cleaned and serviced.
