A Gents 1940s 9 Carat Gold Omega Wrist Watch

Description

A gents 1940s 9 carat gold Omega wrist watch.

The watch has a calibre 260 hand-winding movement which is working well. The movement is signed with the Omega name and it has the serial number 11,526,295 which dates it back to the second half of the 1940s.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1949 together with the case maker’s mark for Aaron Dennison who made cases for Omega. There are initials to the case back, JHC. The case is in good condition for its age with just light surface marks but overall very acceptable. The winding crown is a later replacement.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has been re-finished, probably quite a while ago. There is a little marking. Feuille shaped hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an inner minute track.

A new leather strap has been fitted.
