A Gents 1950s Smiths Wrist Watch, Made in England

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 1940s Smiths wrist watch, made in England.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, 15 jewels, which is working well.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs… it would suit a man with a slimmer wrist or would work as a lady’s watch. The case has a stainless steel bezel and back with a plated centre section… the shaped lugs are a particularly charming feature.

The lens is in good order.

The signed dial is in its original finish and there is some age related discolouration and a very slight unevenness. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
