Description

Austrian (Weiner Werkstatte) silver box, with enamel lid/cover. The fine enamelling displays a clown seated on a bed with a lady seated nearby, the enameller is signed W.F. Weiner Werkstatte was established in Vienna in 1903, as a community concentrating on good design and crafts to many areas; especially silver, ceramics, furniture and fashion in particular. This fine box is typical of the period and an absolute delight.
