A Beautiful Mahogany Early Victorian Period Library Table Probably by Gillows of Lancaster

Description

A beautiful mahogany Early Victorian Period library table probably by Gillows of Lancaster. Having a rectangular top with rounded corners with an inset black leather writing surface with gilt and blind tooled detail and cross banded in mahogany. Having twin concealed mahogany lined frieze drawers to either side, the whole supported on four turned and reeded supports with Cope & Collinson castors. Although un-marked this table is a known Gillows design and the use of Cope & Collinson castors as well as the all round quality would point towards this writing table being made by Gillows of Lancaster English circa 1850-1860

Dimensions: 54" wide x 33" deep x 29" high

Condition: This table is in excellent condition, cleaned and waxed. Replacement leather writing surface.
