Magnificent Set Four Elkington Plate Candlesticks - Dated 1845

Description

An amazing find! It's not often we come across a set so early and a set of four at that ... the earlier they are, the more likely it is that the four have been split into two pairs over the years.

This magnificent set of four are quite beautiful and highly decorative with a grape and vine design, beautifully hand chased. The quality is quite wonderful, but not a surprise having been made by the creme de la creme of English silversmith's, Elkington and Co. Being Elkington, we are able to date them accurately with the date number 5 for the year 1845.

Excellent condition and ready to use, each measuring 5 1/2" in diameter x 11" tall.
