Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Chinese export games tables were produced from the 18th to the early 20th century specifically for Western markets. Craftsmen adapted traditional Chinese woodworking techniques and motifs, such as dragons and floral scrolls, to European furniture forms like folding card and tea tables.

These tables are typically crafted from dense regional hardwoods such as hongmu, zitan, or rosewood. Construction relies on traditional joinery techniques, featuring intricate hand-carved relief decoration and brass hinges for folding envelope or swivel tops.

Authentic pieces feature hand-carved detailing with subtle irregularities, original brass hardware with historical patination, and mortise-and-tenon joinery. Wear consistent with age is usually visible on the feet, stretchers, and folding hinges.

A carved games table functions well as an accent table in a living area, library, or reading nook. Pair it with neutral contemporary seating to allow the dark wood tone and intricate relief carvings to serve as a focal point.

Dust the detailed carvings regularly using a soft, dry brush. Keep the table away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent wood movement or splitting, and apply a high-grade beeswax polish periodically to protect the timber.
