A Gilt-wood French Louis Xvi Style Suite

Description

A Gilt-wood French Louis XVI Style suite. The suite comprising of a settee and pair of fauteuils. The settee with an oval carved gilt-wood back with a central carved ribbon crest and having a padded back with an aubusson style needlework panel depicting lovers within a floral border. Having open swept arms with acanthus carved detail above a serpentine shaped sprung seat with a needlework romantic garden scene, supported on carved, gilded and fluted supports. The matching fauteuils with oval cameo backs again depicting lovers and a similar panel to each sprung seat, open swept arms and supported on carved, gilded and fluted supports. French circa 1920-1930

Dimensions: Settee 55" wide x 35" high x 21" deep Chairs 25" wide x 35" high x 17" deep (seat heights 16")

Condition: This suite is in excellent original condition
