The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1920s.
Russells continued as retail jewellers with branches in Liverpool, and by the early 1900s Manchester and Llandudno.

This watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes or so over 24 hours. The high grade movement is stamped 15 jewels, Swiss made.

The watch measures 50.5mm diameter excluding the winding stem and loop. The full hunter case is gold plated and was made by the English based watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The case is in nice condition with only light surface marks from use. The inner dust cover has a later inscription Presented to Mr John Reid by the Scottish Gas Board in recognition of 40 years service 1954.
The plastic lens is in good condition.
The white enamel dial has faint hairline cracks although hardly noticeable to the naked eye. Blued steel hands.
