Set of Six Walnut & Leather Dining Chairs C.1870.

Description

Splendid set of six mid 19th.c. walnut dining chairs c.1870. Exceptional frames with unusual and crisp carved detail picked out in black and inlaid with small domed ebony studs or buttons to the backrest and the tops of the legs. We don’t think the brown leather upholstery is original though it obviously been on a good long time and is attractively softened and worn with age (small hole to the rear of one backrest). Turned and tapering front legs with carved detail at the foot and original brass and ceramic castors. Excellent colour and condition.

Dimensions: width 19", depth 20", height 36".
