Description

Superb quality Edwardian oak library bookcase by the Manchester cabinet makers Goodall c.1905. Good large size and simple uncluttered design. Glazed bookcase top with crisp moulded cornice and three adjustable shelves over a two door cupboard base with two drawers in the waist. Superior quality, solid oak front, sides and drawer linings. The timber on the front being quarter sawn to reveal a pattern of medullary rays. Tramline carving to the drawer and door fronts and original brass handles. Maker’s stamp to the top of the left hand drawer front. Some old marks to the top of the base section, otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied.
