Large Antique English Mahogany and Brass Postal Scales Fabulous Waisted Dump Weights C.1900

Description

Dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian era, this fabulous pair of English letter scales have the most wonderful complete set of bell - shaped weights, amazing to find them all intact, they are so easily lost over a 100 year period.

The base is made from solid Mahogany and stands on four original turned bun feet. The right-hand pan is engraved with the rates of the day which allows us to accurately date these to post 1897 which is when these rates were introduced but before 1915.

A wonderful set in superb condition and an impressive large size measuring 11" x 6 1/4" x 5 1/2" tall.
