Description

Beautiful little mid 19th.c. Davenport writing desk c.1860. Letter rack and ink stand at the top over a sloping leather writing surface with lockable compartment below. On a pedestal base with four small drawers in the right hand side (the left hand having dummy drawer fronts). Symmetrically arranged burr walnut veneers inlaid with ebonised panels with delicate carved detail highlighted in gold. With carved and pierced corbels, maple line interior and turned button drawer knobs. Excellent condition, retaining the original locks, inkwell, brass stay and ceramic castors. Fitted with a new leather skiver, cleaned and polished in our workshops. Key supplied. Dimensions: width 22?, depth 23?, height 36?
