The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The watch has a fusee, or chain driven, movement which is working well. The movement is signed Jn Howlett, Cheltenham. It is protected by a fitted inner cover. A winding key is included.
The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for London 1855 with a case maker’s mark for James Jackson II. The case is in nice condition.

The watch glass has faint surface marking to the outer but is in very acceptable condition.
The white enamel dial is in nice condition. The hour hand is a later replacement.
