Marylebone Antiques has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
It's mahogany, with satinwood & ebony inlays, plus numerous flame mahogany panels. The back section is amazing, with tiny drawers, curved corner cupboards, central cupboard & two curved front ends that lift up with compartments inside & dividers. There is a tooled leather writing surface in the centre, which slides out to create more writing space. There are more drawers below, with original brass handles. The drawers have fine dovetails & all the drawer bottoms are solid timbers. The spade end legs are bold, tapered, inlaid, panelled & cross banded. The curved back is also finished as nice as the rest of this desk, with inlays, cross bandings & flame mahogany panels. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate all the fine features.
