Regency Rosewood Firescreen C.1820.

Description

Superb early 19th.c. rosewood firescreen c.1820. Fabulous quality with solid rosewood stiles of octagonal section topped with matching finials and descending to very unusual sleigh feet in heavy cast brass. Original pierced fretwork panels with an athemion motif at the centre, a typical Regency detail . The embroidered woolwork at the centre also appears to be the original, laid onto a fresh linen backing. Excellent condition.
