Walnut and Brass Late Victorian Period Stick Stand by James Shoolbred

Description

A walnut and brass Late Victorian Period stick and umbrella stand by James Shoolbred. Having a shaped back with a brass balustrade gallery with brass turned finials, above a rectangular solid walnut top. The rectangular frieze drawer with a typical aesthetic style brass handle and registered design stamps. The sides having curved brass umbrella stands, all supported on shaped supports and united by a brass galleried under-tier with typical Shoolbred brass capped feet. In very good and original condition. The back has the label W.A. & S. Smee, Finsbury Pavement who were caninet makers and upholsterers working in London from around 1802 until the early 20th century.
