Hunt of London Regency Georgian Longcase Clock

Description

A fine quality Georgian Regency period London longcase clock. Choice flame mahogany veneers. An arched pediment with scrolled detailing and an original matching set of brass finials. Circular side glass hood apertures. Fluted brass stopped trunk sides and a re-entrant base panel. A cast brass hood bezel with convex glass to the painted dial with seconds and 'moon' blued steel hands. A timepiece 8-day duration mechanism with tapered plates. London features of brass cased weight and flat rod brass pendulum.

Thomas Hunt of London is recorded in Bailles' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1822-1835.
