A 1920s Elgin Full Hunter Pocket Watch

Description

A 1920s Elgin full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, grade 301 which was made for 25 years, and it is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Elgin name and it also has the serial number 24006200 which dates it back to 1921. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a sunburst pattern to the inside… there are indentations and scratches to this inner cover.

The watch itself measures 46mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The gold filled case is beautifully detailed on both the front and back. There is a vacant cartouche to the front and a small image of a chapel to the back.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside there is a plastic lens which is in good condition.

The signed white enamel dial is in good condition.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
