Description

Charming George I Britannia standard silver loving cup with fluted lower half, later embossed and engraved, set on a pedestal collet foot with lovely scrolled handles with cast ridged detailing. It retains its pale gilt interior. It is marked with the lion's head erased, Britannia mark, dated for 1716 and maker's mark for Joseph Bell I.

It measures 11.7cm (4 5/8") high and 17.2cm (6 3/4") by 9.8cm (3 7/8") wide. It weighs 247g/7.9ozt.

Condition is good for age; a couple of minor surface dints, a small dent at the base of one handle and a small tear near the base of the other.
