The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The well holder has geometric, pierced detailing around the bottom and a pierced gallery. The glass well has engraved detail but is a well fitted replacement. The well cover is original and it and the stand and gallery are hallmarked for Sheffield 1912, maker James Dixon & Sons.
It measures 7cm (2 3/4") high, 18cm (7") long and 7cm (2 3/4") wide. It weighs 208g in total, 132g/4.2ozt silver weight. Condition is very good with appropriate signs of age and use.
