The Fancy Fox has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
Hallmarked to the base for London 1828, makers Edward, Edward Junior, John and William Barnard. The flower knop is also hallmarked as is the handle both inside and out and inside the lid. There is a monogram to one side and a small inscription under the base.
It measures 10 1/2" long, 6 1/2" wide and 5 1/8" high. It weighs 678g/21.8ozt. Condition is very good; there are a few minor dints and some light surface wear from age and use.
