Description

Lovely late Georgian silver teapot of fabulous round disc form on collet foot with sweeping spout and rounded fluted handle with thumb rest. A reeded band runs around the middle and the slightly domed lid bears a stunning, finely detailed cast finial as a waterlily complete with inidividual petals and finely veined and textured leaves. Hallmarked to the base for London 1828, makers Edward, Edward Junior, John and William Barnard. The flower knop is also hallmarked as is the handle both inside and out and inside the lid. There is a monogram to one side and a small inscription under the base.

It measures 10 1/2" long, 6 1/2" wide and 5 1/8" high. It weighs 678g/21.8ozt. Condition is very good; there are a few minor dints and some light surface wear from age and use.
