A superb and very rare Indian specimen wood back gammon and chess board in the guise of 2 books. The ebony faux bindings reading " Woods of Travancore" and "Volumes I & II". In excellent condition and showing top quality workmanship. The Kingdom of Travancore was in South Western India and was dissolved in 1949. A good reference book for the important forests is Travancore Forests by T.F. Bourdillon published in 1892. Size:- Height..14.75''/37cm. Width Open..16''/40.5cm. Depth Closed..2.5''/6.5cm.
