C19th William IV period carved gilt-wood framed over-mantel mirror. Compact scale over-mantel mirror with reeded and ebonised slip surround ,and original hand-bevelled mirror plate. Half-rounded reeded section frame surround with boldly-carved acanthus leaf corners to the top . The base terminals with stepped block and fluted vase detail .

Original untouched gilded finish and with an atmospheric, slightly distressed/foxed mirror plate .

Original boarded and papered back.

Good mellow aged patina and finish .

Minor historic repair to top left leaf carving .

Stylish and flamboyant mirror of practical size and scale.
