Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The box is actually silver gilt (gold on silver), retaining the original gold or gilded finish. The box is covered in a deep lilac or purple guilloche enamel with gold decoration to the lid.
The hinged lid fits perfectly and once opened revealed the gilded interior.
Dating to around 1900, the box remains in superb undamaged condition. 1 3/4" x 1 1/8" x 1/4" tall.
