This is a superior Victorian wing back chair dating to c.1850.

At four feet tall, the high back on this winged chair would have been used to protect against draughts either fire side or as a porter's chair.

Raised on raked, turned front legs with brass cup castors and swept, square section rear legs, the moulded seat rail anchors the scroll carved arm supports.

Traditionally stuffed and well sprung, this dark green velvet chair offers a comfortable seat complimented by the high, button back, deep wings and padded arm rests that cosset the sitter.
