Late Victorian Oak Stick Stand, C.1890

Description

This is an antique, Victorian stick or umbrella stand dating to c.1890.

Beautifully made in English oak showing deep russet tones with a desirable aged patina, this stand is raised on turned feet and features a removable tin drip tray for easy emptying.

The ring turned legs continue up to box section at the frieze which is beautifully relief carved featuring a reciprocating arched detail with foliate embellishment. To the end panels a central rosette motif stands prominent.

The upper section is usefully divided into three sections and cornered by ball finials.

A country antique with an enduring purpose and desirability. Solid joints and construction, delivered waxed, polished and ready for the home.
