Art Deco Double Sided Bus Stop Sign

1920 - 1940
Description

An unusual double sided bus stop sign with a cast iron frame housing removable yellow numbered tiles made of a bakerlite type material. The frame has brackets to one side for fixing to a wall, it was originally designed to be seen side on so both sides can be viewed, but looks equally good leaning against a wall as a decorative statement.

The condition is good,there is some rust to the frame and two of the tiles look like later replacements. This is a really fun piece and would add make an unusual decorative statement in any interior.

Height at centre: 29.25"(74.5cm)

Height at sides: 25.5"(65cm)

Width: 18.25"(46.5cm)

Width to brackets: 20"(51cm)
