Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Shop counter dispensers gained popularity in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries as branded retail accessories. Manufacturers provided standardized display cases to shopkeepers to showcase specific items, such as stationery, hardware, or haberdashery, directly at the point of sale.

These cases were commonly constructed using hardwoods such as mahogany or oak, fitted with float glass tops or fronts. Internal dividers were often crafted from card, wood, or lightweight brass, with gilded or screen-printed lettering marking item categories.

Authentic pieces exhibit natural patination on the timber, original glass with occasional slight imperfections, and period-appropriate lettering or branding. Wear is typically concentrated around edges and access points consistent with historical retail usage.

Countertop showcases serve effectively as structured organisers for contemporary study desks, console tables, or library shelving. They function well for housing small collection items, writing instruments, or artist supplies within themed spaces.

Dust the timber surfaces regularly with a soft microfiber cloth and apply natural beeswax sparingly to preserve the wood finish. Clean glass panels using a gentle, ammonia-free glass cleaner applied to a cloth rather than directly onto the item to protect original internal lettering.
