George II Mahogany Windsor Armchair of Eccentric Design

18th century
Description

A rare George II mahogany Windsor armchair of eccentric design; the pagoda shaped top rail above a railed spindle back with wide shaped outscrolled arms, leading to a large dished and horseshoe shaped saddle seat with exaggerated scrolled front corners and a raised moulded edge; standing on cabriole front legs with scroll and ruffle carving. All four legs terminating in large pad feet with recessed leather barrel castors. Good rich colour and patination.

Excellent condition.
