Description

This is a set of four, antique, Regency dining chairs dating to c.1820.

Extremely well made in rosewood, weighty and solid, these chairs show good colour and patina. The drop in seat pads are traditionally stuffed and finished in a salmon cloth that could be easily recovered to suit any interior design.

The shaped and rolled crest rails are very tactile and ride upon sinuous stiles that curve gently down into swept rear legs. A beautiful, symmetrically carved central back rest features a central rosette flanked by foliate detail.

The seat rails have a proud, banded moulding detail with the front legs gently tapered and turned with ball, ring and leaf detail.
