London Fine Antiques has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
Inlaid with classical garlands to each corner in boxwood and strung to unite them, it creates a subtle border out to the moulded edge detail.

Beneath the top a burr walnut apron supports the top that twists then unfolds on the original brass hinges revealing an aged baize, tooled interior over a mahogany lined recess in which to store playing cards, coasters and alike.

Raised on the original white ceramic castors, four carved cabriole legs, featuring sinuous moulding detail, sweep into scrolled toes and are united by a turned and tapered stretcher around a central bulb featuring a carved rosette detail.

The tapered column supports with lower, flared foliate detail support the fold over top. Beneath the columns, inverted finials complete the extravagant Victorian look and passion for adornment.
A fine table, solid joints and construction, delivered, waxed, polished and ready for the home.
