A very large antique brass astronomical telescope by William Harris & Co 50 Holborn London.

The telescope stands on brass tripod and has an easy 360 swivel, it has 3 piece brass lens cover and measures approx 57” long extended, it stands around 25” tall at the centre, it has a 3.5” lens with adjustable stays to set the viewing angle, the second eye piece is 1” in diameter

This is rare and magnificent piece, the telescope is in very good condition, the brass is naturally patinated and has not been re lacquered. The view through the lens is good, this handsome instrument makes a very imposing display, but is also a practical, usable telescope from a very reputable manufacturer.
