The case is oval, engraved all over with curved bevelled glass panels to all four sides.
The 8-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell, repeating hours at will via the upper button and the alarm train works perfectly. This movement retains its original lever escapement and is numbered 4712. A wonderful carriage clock!
