Presented in the original circular card mount and 27" square wooden frame with moulded detail. Excellent condition.

Admiral Hawke (born 1907) was brother of the celebrated racing mare Pretty Polly and began his career in similar style by winning five races in seven starts – Ascot’s Coventry Stakes (by three lengths, beating seventeen), Newmarket July’s Fulbourne Stakes (by a head), Goodwood’s Lavant Stakes, Newmarket’s Criterion Stakes and the Moulton Stakes. He ran in the 1910 Derby finishing fifth and later went to stud in Germany.
