Solid silver floral top box, hallmarked London 1905, Maker: William Comyns & Sons.
Exquisite solid silver rectangular box. The hinged lid has a beautiful bunch of flowers (lilies) on the top. The lid closes firmly. The design though simple, is stunning. There is a small lip on the side of the lid for opening. The box has a gilt interior.
Hallmarks are clear and visible on both the side of the lid and on the inside of the box under the lid; London 1905 with maker''s mark: William Comyns & Sons. Initials IEM are stamped on the underneath of the box (these are probably retailer''s marks).
Condition: This box is in great used condition. There are a few minor scratches to the silver only to be expected with an item of this age and mentioned for accuracy only. The hinges are in very good order and the lid closes perfectly.
Measurements: 10.5cm x 4.5cm x 2.8cm approx
Weight: 85g approx
