A 1920s Minerva half hunter pocket watch originally retailed by W.E.Johnson Birmingham & Dudley.

The watch has a high grade Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is stamped 17 jewels 4 adjustments Swiss made. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50.4mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the English based watch case company Dennisons. The case has some wear to the outer edge of the front and back and the odd small “ding” although quite acceptable for a piece of its age. .

The front cover has Roman numerals around a small plastic lens. The numerals are filled with dark blue enamel with a tiny bit missing on the outer ring. The winding crown pushes down to open the front cover. It reveals a white enamel dial signed with the original retailers name W.E.Johnson Birmingham & Dudley. The dial is in nice condition with only the odd minor mark.

The watch lens is plastic and has the odd minor mark but overall it is in nice condition.

The watch has blued steel hands designed so that the time can be read when the front cover is closed … with conventional hands, it would be impossible to tell which hand was which through the small lens.
