Unusual 1930s Harlequin Full Hunter Pocket Watch

1920 - 1940
Description

An unusual 1930s full hunter pocket watch by the Roa Watch Company.

The watch has a Phenix movement, calibre 786, stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and unusually it has harlequin detailing to both the front and the back… there is some rubbing and light marking but overall it is very acceptable for a 1930s piece.

The plastic lens is in good order.

The dial is signed Roa Watch Co, Geneve. The dial has the same harlequin pattern as the outside of the case, this is rarely seen and is a charming feature, and the overall style is very 1930s. There is a little age related marking to the dial and the hour hand is a later replacement.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
