Fabulous Art Deco Vanity Box - Guilloche Enamel and Marcasite - 1929

Description

A most fabulous Art Deco powder bowl or box with a shaped glass bowl with a star-cut base. The lid is what makes this an outstanding example made from English sterling silver with a hallmark for Birmingham 1929 together with the makers mark for the well renowned, Adie Brothers.

The top of the hexagonal lid is decorated with a wonderful mint green guilloche enamel showcasing the decorative engine turning below. The enamel is framed decorative border and the corner of the lid has a Marcasite mount adding some extra sparkle.

Excellent condition, the lid spans 3 1/4" and stands 2 1/4" tall.
